Britain is about to need its tradespeople more than ever.
We built N-Gin Trade School for a simple reason: the country is heading into a skills shortage of historic proportions, and the places to train the next generation of trades simply aren't there — least of all on a weeknight, for adults, in West Sussex.

A perfect storm of demand
An ageing workforce is retiring faster than it's being replaced. The push toward electrification — EV charging, heat pumps, solar, battery storage and the rewiring of an entire housing stock — is multiplying demand for qualified electricians specifically.
Government housebuilding targets, net-zero commitments and an infrastructure pipeline all point the same way: the UK needs tens of thousands more skilled trades this decade than it is currently producing. For people willing to train, it is one of the most secure, well-paid and portable careers available — and you don't need a desk to do it.
This is the trade revolution. We intend to help West Sussex meet it.

Underserved, and growing fast
West Sussex sits between major training hubs but is poorly served by them. Adults wanting to retrain locally face long commutes to colleges built around 9-to-5, full-time, school-leaver timetables — no use to someone holding down a job.
At the same time, the area is seeing a steady influx of people moving into the trades: career-changers leaving offices, young families relocating from London, and existing tradespeople looking to formalise and level up their skills. Demand is rising while local, flexible provision stays flat.
